Palm Oil Mill

Palm Oil Mill process is quite different from other vegetable oil seeds processing. Palm fruits consists a lot of fatty acid enzyme, which would hydrolyze palm oil. That’s the reason why palm fruit must be sent into processing in 24 hours.

At the Palm oil mill, the main products that are produced from FFB to Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernels.

By products are generated at the palm oil mill, in which crude palm oil (CPO) and kernels are produced from the Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB).

Fresh palm fruit is shipped from the field in bunches or loose fruit. Fresh palm fruit is usually poured into suitable wooden boxes so that the quantity of fruit arriving at the processing site can be checked. Large installations use weighbridges to weigh materials in trucks.

Reception of Palm Fruit Bunches

The quality standard achieved initially depends on the quality of the fruit bunches arriving at the Palm Oil Factory. Factories cannot improve this quality, but can prevent or minimize further deterioration.

On-site factors that affect palm oil composition and final quality are genetics, tree age, agronomy, environment, harvesting techniques, handling and transportation. Many of these factors are beyond the control of small processors. Perhaps some control over harvesting techniques and post-harvest shipping and handling.
